Bilbao is located in the Norh of the Iberian Peninsula, so the weather is influenced by the Atlantic Clima. Winters are not especially cold, but they are very rainy. During summer, temperatures increase a lot, reaching from 25ºC to 40ºC some days. Besides this, and due to the oceans influence, it is usual to have summer storms after some hot days. If you are going to do your Erasmus here, you should carry suitable clothes for the rain.
But if you are going to stay here the second semester, don´t forget to take your swimsuit with you, because since May we start having sunny days and you can enjoy our beautiful beaches after the university.
Besides the bad weather during Winter, the life in Bilbao is not boring. You can always find a place to meet people or different interesting events. We always say that the rain is what keeps our awesome green surroundings in good conditions during the whole year.
