Here are some photos of Christ the King statue:

Christ the King statue
The Sanctuary of Christ the King, located in Almada, Portugal, is a Catholic monument and shrine devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, commanding a panoramic view of the city of Lisbon. Drawing inspiration from the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the idea for this monument took shape after the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon visited the Brazilian landmark. The project reached completion and was officially inaugurated on May 17, 1959.

The towering statue, reminiscent of its counterpart in Rio de Janeiro, was erected as a symbol of gratitude. It stands as a testament to Portugal's thankfulness for being spared the direct destructive impacts of World War II. The Sanctuary of Christ the King serves as both a religious site and a commemoration of historical events, contributing to the cultural and spiritual landscape of the region.
