BARDENAS REALES OF NAVARRE
The park is characterized by its semi-desert landscapes, which are very unusual for the region and in sharp contrast to the lush, green landscapes of northern Navarre. These landscapes are the result of a very special climate made up of hot summers, cold winters and long dry periods interrupted by heavy rain. There is also a particular wind current that runs through the area, called “cierzo.”
Of course nowadays Bardenas Reales are mainly famous because the Dothraki. During season 6 of Game of Thrones, Bardenas Reales was the main location for the desert scenes.

A stroll through the narrow streets of Olite will take you past noble stone houses with coats or arms on their facades and grandiose wooden eaves, medieval galleries and splendid churches, and the Roman wall surrounding the city.
Real Palace of Olite
The Palace of the Kings was one of the seats of the Court of the Kingdom of Navarre, since the reign of Charles III "the Noble" until its union with Castile (1512).
The palace was quite damaged (except for the church) in 1813 by a fire caused by general Espoz y Mina during the Napoleonic French Invasion aiming to stop the french invasion. It’s restoration started in 1937 and lasted for 30 years giving it back its original appearance. Nevertheless, miscellaneous architectural decoration of its interior, and the outside gardens, were lost.
TUDELA
Tudela is the second largest city of Navarre and has an important historic center with churches and old palaces, but the jewel of the city is its cathedral, a mixture of architectural styles. Cathedral of Tudela
The cathedral is without a doubt the main monument of the city and one of the most remarkable of monumental Navarre. It was built on top of the remains of the former mosque. The building was originally conceived as a collegiate church. Part of its architecture corresponds to the Romanesque style and as the works progress it is the new Gothic style of the 13th century which is imposed. Because of its historical and artistic importance, it was declared a National Monument in 1884.
Palace of the Marquis of Huarte
The palace of the Marquis of Huarte is located in the old quarter outside the walls that the Arabs built after the Christian conquest. It is the most representative example of civil architecture of the Baroque of the Ribera de Navarra. The decoration of the main façade and, in the interior, the imperial staircase, the patio and its roof stand out.
For its construction, three narrow and deep medieval houses that were located on the site were used. In the courtyard of the palace awaits a surprise: the double imperial staircase, considered the most beautiful in Navarre.
