Are you looking for accommodation during your stay in Bilbao?
The vast majority of students who choose Bilbao for their Erasmus decide to share a flat with other students. The main benefit of sharing a flat is that you´ll share the rent and the rest of the expenses. Apart from that, sharing a flat with more internationals is always a great experience and a huge opportunity to get to know new languages and cultures.
One of the best districts to find a student flat in Bilbao is Deusto. This area is located in the city center and has excellent public transport connections with the rest of the city. Apart from that, if you are going to study at the University of Deusto or in Sarriko (UPV/EHU), you won´t need to take any bus to arrive at your classes, your new house will be a 5 minute walk away.
Renting a flat in Deusto is also a good option if you are going to study at the Campus of Leioa (UPV/EHU), because there is a bus station in Lehendakari Aguirre Avenue with connections to the University. Renting a flat in Leioa can be a bit cheaper than renting a flat in Bilbao. However, the distance to the city center and the lack of public transport during the night will make it difficult to enjoy the nightlife.
Apart from Deusto, Casco Viejo (old town), Campo Volantín and San Ignacio are also reasonable choices for students. Every year, dozens of international students like you choose Bilbao for their Erasmus. As mentioned before, sharing a flat with some of them can be an educational experience with a possibility to enrich your Erasmus in Bilbao.
